When the app decides the generator has lost connection, you don't even get "most recent status". Just an error, without any useful information. Genset is hardwired. I have to go outside, disconnect the battery for a hard reset.

Why it it dropping network connections. I paid extra for this option. I've had this app for several years and it rarely works can't see my generator. After a lot of trial and error it seems I can reestablish communication by updating firmware. This requires taking a laptop outside and physically connecting it to the generator. So it seems the engineers are changing things that cause communications to fail without warning owners that they need to update or things will stop working.

So frustrating. A simple email saying "a breaking change is being made, please update your firmware" would be nice. Even better, hire developers that understand backward compatibility. This is not a new problem, it's been the situation for years. And to think I paid extra for the option to connect to my smartphone. Not sure how a large company can get away with this for so many years.

Email support is worthless. Difficult to read small text. Unable to end app. Difficult to navigate. Newest version is still terrible. Still unable to end app. Important parameters still difficult to find. Adults need to develop this app not children. Can not edit the timer or other controls.

This will not prevent the generator from providing power in case of utility power loss; however, no messages will be sent until communication with the OnCue Plus server is restored. Very frustrating to say the least. After reconnecting everything again, my effort was successful for about two days, after which the OnCue Plus system started sending the same error messages again.

The entire idea of oncue plus monitoring is great hoever. This is crucial for anyone who travels and doesn't want to have the generator running around the clock during extended power outages!

The app is ok but suffers from some programming issues. The first is that the app will not close on a Motorola Droid 2 phone. After it has opened, there is no way to get rid of the screen after you are done.

You have to kill the process to get rid of screen. There is also no way to edit information on the dealer, or change test times, which forces you to use their website which employs Flash, a vulnerable program on PCs which can be exploited.

This app does nothing to explain why a stop in exercise has occurred. All it does when you are hundreds of miles from Home is basically inform you that 2 minutes into a scheduled 20 minute exercise your Generator stopped. Now you have to organize your Installer to come out and inspect. Does not provide a status on fluid levels, does not provide a status on running temperature etc..

WiFi unit keeps loosing signal. Currently the app itself is not communicating. I really wish it did work. I feel like I wasted my money adding this feature to my generator. The older computer app was better. It basically tells info about generator. Please let us make changes without going outside to the generator keypad! Until then, it is quite useless!!! Once was an solid and dependable app. The end user once had the ability to set the rate from immediately to something like 30 seconds.

The email and text notification are delayed as well. The update that just happened in may removed a valuable parameter that was monitored.

It was percentage of output that the generator was producing on my 6vsg Model. Not sure why they removed this. This genset directly charges our 48v battery bank and it was a very valuable tool to see the state of charge of our batteries in our off grid house. Not sure why they need to change things that are working. Since new update am not able to access percentage of load and now customizable perimeters section has disappeared.

Remote configuration is very limited. Can only set testing schedule details but can't even turn on auto testing. Does provide notifications of events. The back button on my phone does not exit the app. A bit of a hassle to go to have to go to the list of recent apps and remove from memory. The new version requires a login everytime. A real hassle with a secure password. The latest version is a step backward in functionality.

Limited functionality, basically status info and notification. Very little configuration capabilities. Instead of fixing bugs, Kohler decided to add fingerprint verification! I like that we can both monitor using OnCue Plus from our phones and iPads as well as laptops. We use it to monitor the generator when we are away but rarely if ever use it to control the unit. My only issue does not appear to have anything to do with OnCue Plus. This fault requires using the keypad on the generator to put it back in AUTO mode. This always seems to happen under extreme weather conditions when we are away from home. One of the main reasons we have this generator is to ensure we have power under exactly these kinds of circumstances.

A must-have if you have a Koehler generator but You cannot set the controller time from OnCue. You have to get the key and go to the generator. You cannot set or reset the exercise time from OnCue. If you remotely start the generator, that becomes the new exercise start time and resets the exercise interval. You cannot see the output current of the generator. You cannot read the engine oil pressure. At least on the 20RESA - just the oil temperature and the temperature is not even close to accurate.

It randomly looses the network connection and will not always reconnect without a hardware reset which requires removing AC power and disconnecting the genset battery.
